Christmas Snapshots Part 1

for those of you who read my christmas post, you remember that i didn't have the best christmas day. but i did have an overall fun christmas break with my family that i am so grateful for!

i broke my christmas vacation into a couple posts, so here is part 1!

we had some issues with my siblings eating all the pieces to the gingerbread house. my mom was looking for the awning to go over the front door and my brother Dustin got this guilty look on his face. my mom slapped him (lovingly of course) in the tummy hahaha!

our gingerbread house ended up looking pretty rough, but we've never been good gingerbread house makers! the next day, a our family friends came caroling to our front door and brought us this huge gingerbread train! it was gloriously beautiful.

we decided to throw our gingerbread house away and keep the the train.
it was a good choice.

here is my sister hailey, a girl after my own heart.

i didn't really feel like taking too many pictures on christmas day, but i did take a few!
of food, only food. because i just like food haha.

for those of you who couldn't tell from my extremely tan skin, i'm half mexican! so it's a tradition in my family to have tamales for christmas. honestly, they aren't my favorite. i feel like they are kinda dry and don't have much flavor. but hey! it's a fun tradition and everyone else likes them!

stuffing=happiness.

christmas dinner was so yummy! we had all of our family over to our house. my dad's siblings and their families, and his parents all live in the same city as us, so they all came. and my mom's parents and siblings and their families came! it was full house! (i used to love that show, well i still do)

hope you all had a merry christmas! christmas snapshots part 2 coming soon :)

  1. You know, somehow, I don't think I've ever made a gingerbread house before! When I have kids, I'll be sure to change that! :) Happy New Year!

  5. Have to admit I'm usually with you on the tamale thing. My best friend is Mexican though and her family makes the most amazing tamales ever and they're not dry (or mushy, like some of the others I've tried). Unless I'm at their house I avoid tamales in general. ;)
